If you’re at NELA Artwalk in Highland Park his Saturday evening, November 14th, stop in to Avenue 50 Studio. You’ll see my “Water Signs – Laguna Woods”  plus wonderful paintings and posters celebrating water and bringing attention to our need to focus attention now.

First in my new “Water Signs” series of digital photo collages. 20 x 16″, on White Aluminum Composite – “Water Signs – Laguna Woods”

My digital “painting” was created using iPhoneography – photos taken with my iPhone of condos and golf course, a street sign and water utility street cover in Laguna Woods. These photos were then collaged into a cohesive statement using several layers of photos and colors in the Procreate app.

“Water: A Necessary Conversation” brings together contemporary art and past posters focused on water as a vital and limited resource. It includes abstract and representational artworks by 20 contemporary artists working in an array of media from painting, prints, video to photography. Curated by art historian Susan M. King, the selection of works strikes a dialogue between past and present art meant as a social lever around water issues.

The exhibition is  organized by the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art as an Art as Activism project with assistance from the Center for the Study of Political Graphics.

Coming up – highlights of my trip to Palo Alto for the Mobile Digital Art and Creativity Summit. So many talented digital artists – all working on mobile devices – iPads, iPhones, tablets. The genius quotient was very, very high.

Love to all,

Thrilled to be juried into mDAC – the Mobile Digital Art & Creativity Summit 2015 – for my iPad painting “Love Wins!” Thank you to the jurors. Looking forward to a terrific weekend in August where I get to play with other digital artists. Lots of workshops by many pros. My students will benefit immensely from all I will have learned.

My art students had a big show last week of iPad art and traditional collage. They are so talented. Check out some show pictures on my new blog: iPad Art SoCal – you can discover what I’m up to while you’re there: I’ve teamed up with Mobile Art Academy in Palo Alto to teach their amazing iPad art classes here in Southern California.
