Hi there,<\/p>\n

Today I wanted to do something different.\u00a0 So, I tried copying a Georgia O\u2019Keefe painting called \u201cRed Flower.\u201d\u00a0 It\u2019s really gorgeous.\u00a0 I give myself lots of leeway on these things, knowing that they will always look like I did them, rather than the original artist.\u00a0 Well, that\u2019s the point, really.\u00a0 Get inspired by Georgia and then play with the wonderful colors and shapes she uses.\u00a0 Of course my shapes didn\u2019t turn out quite like hers, but I like them enough to show them to you.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the watercolor, finished, or as finished as I want to be with it. I will probably collage over it and see what happens. I\u2019ll keep you posted on that. The paper I used for this was Arches, the pad form, hot pressed, 100% cotton, 7\u201d x 10\u201d (18 x 26 cm). I\u2019m going to leave it on the pad so it doesn\u2019t curl up while if fully dries.<\/p><\/div>\n

Here it is, tweaked with Picasa, to give it more color so I could make prints if I wanted to. I have a rather detailed business proposal to complete so it was great to clear my head with this. More Later.<\/p><\/div>\n
